Anthurium cut flowers care tips

After buying the flowers, just cut 5 cm off the end of the stalk and put the flower(s) in a clean vase with tap water. Anthurium flowers are very clean and keep the water clear. It doesn’t need cut flower food, but does tolerate it. So with bouquets of mixed flower, you can add some cut flower food without any problem. Refresh the water in the vase of the Anthuriums about once a week and at the same time cut one centimeter off the stem. This means the Anthurium will stand easily for two to three weeks in its vase.

Light

They are touchy to coordinate light and consume effortlessly, so take care to shield from hot evening sunbeams. To flourish in our homes, anthuriums require medium to splendid circuitous light, in spite of the fact that they'll acknowledge less amid their torpid period in winter.

Water

Make a propensity for keeping an eye on it at any rate a few times per week by tenderly delving a finger into the dirt. Appropriate watering is critical to Anthurium care. Keep the dirt gently damp amid the developing season (March-September), letting the best layer simply approach dryness between waterings.

Temperature

They will suffer or even die below 55 degrees and are happiest between 65-70. It’s also important to protect your Anthurium from forced air. Heaters, fans, and air conditioners can damage plants if they are too close, but gentle air circulation (such as an open window on a warm, humid day) will benefit them.

Fertilizer

Fertilizer does not produce more flowers or more frequent blooming. Too much fertilizer will produce lush foliage but no flowers. Feed your anthurium sparingly. The “fertilize weakly, weekly” saying suggests how these plants should be fed. Use a good liquid fertilizer for blooming plants once monthly. Mix the solution at 20 percent of the manufacturer’s recommendation. You can use a pelletized fertilizer for blooming plants, if you prefer. Pellet products are typically time-released and each application lasts for about three months.
